Ansley is a dear friend of Allie’s and it was so fun to have her in our boutique! She came with her sisters last spring after getting engaged the week of St. Patrick’s day 2021. Her fiancé (now husband) John proposed on the lake which is a place they spend a lot of time with their family and friends. John proposed with his grandmother’s diamond in a custom ring he designed for Ansley. She chose our Veronica dress for her fall beach wedding. We love this classic V-neck wedding dress and how Ansley added a sweet addition to it. This crepe fit-n-flare wedding dress is perfect for any bride looking to show off their figure while keeping to an elegant and chic silhouette.

What was your favorite part about wedding dress shopping at Katharine Marie Weddings?

I had a personalized experience in the boutique with just Allie and my sisters. It was nice being able to share it with just them. I cried when I put it on and looked in the mirror and couldn't picture wearing anything else to get married in. 

Memorable moments from your wedding day? 

Since my mom is no longer with us, I had Tatiana at Staar Tailors turn lace from my mom’s dress into a belt to go with my dress. Seeing John's face as he saw me for the first time was one of my most favorite parts. I couldn’t wait for him to see my dress!  We got married on the beach and the weather wasn’t looking promising. But, by what can only be explained with the power of prayer, we avoided 100% chance of rain for the perfect October beach wedding day. As a guest, Allie's always wanted to attend a beach wedding and this was all those dreams were made of. Overcast skies with sand between the toes and dresses to twirl the night away in, it couldn't have been more perfect! Plus it was a nice little weekend getaway with family and friends too!

What advice do you have for future brides?

Don't sweat the small stuff. Take the time to make mental pictures throughout the day. Do what makes you happy and don't be afraid to go against traditions if it's not what you want.
