Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Clouse || Meadows at Mossy Creek

Elissa and Brent got married on November 1, 2019 at the Meadows at Mossy Creek. I'll talk about my love of this venue in a minute, but I want to share more about their day first! Elissa and Brent, thank you both for allowing me the honor of being part of your wedding. I love you both and wish you all the best in your marriage!!

Getting ready

Elissa and her bridesmaids had their hair and make-up done off-site, but arrived shortly after the groomsmen to get ready in the bridal cottage. Okay, let me interject one thing about my love of the Meadows - their bridal suite is stunning and perfectly set up! Elissa and Brent decided to have a first look so we had to keep Brent hidden in the Groomsmen's room (okay also, they have a little putting green for the guys!) until the big reveal.

First Look

Whether you're a fan of first looks or not, we can all agree they are a very special moment. It is a time to just be with your fiancé before all of your family and friends arrive and the day gets going! They took time to read letters to each other and it was just so special for them. One thing Elissa and Brent really wanted to do was make Manhattan's together. I thought this was a really fun idea, and got them some custom glasses they could use for the day.

Ceremony

The Meadows at Mossy Creek has ceremony spaces indoors and outdoors. Elissa and Brent chose to have their ceremony outside overlooking the mountains. They had communion and some of their closest friends sang during the ceremony. I could not think of a better place for this couple to be married; everything about this wedding vibe was so Elissa & Brent!! (which is what I want for all of my couples! Your day should feel like you two.)

Cocktail Hour & Bridal party

It had been raining pretty hard the day before, so we weren't sure if the grounds would be fully dried out for the cocktail hour to happen outside but it did! The Meadows has the perfect space complete with wood stove and heaters for the winter along with corn hole to entertain guests while you're finishing up pictures. Moonie's BBQ created the best grazing charcuterie table for the guests and the outside bar was open as well while the bridal party finished up photos.

Reception

The reception was buffet style, with guests being assigned tables and not necessarily seats. (If you're having guests pick their entree, you most likely will need to assign seats, but if not, assigning tables is perfect so your guests can sit near people they know.) Y'all the food was amazing! Anyone getting married in North Georgia or the surrounding area needs to use Moonie's (I loved working with their team!). Elissa & Brent chose to greet all of their guests as they entered the buffet line and I really love that they were able to speak to each person at their wedding. Your day can feel pretty rushed so having this time to speak with your friends and family is what makes it extra special.

Anyone who knows Elissa knows two things - she loves traveling and she loves to bake pies. So instead of traditional wedding cake, Elissa and Brent served 5 different types of pies to their guests. The dance floor opened after the toasts were given and pies were served; and the newlyweds danced the night away with their friends and family. Elissa has always loved her grandpa's station wagon and they use it as their getaway car!

VENDOR LOVE

One of Elissa's best friends and bridesmaids, Sara, is a crazy talented florist (she's crazy talented in a million areas actually). We knew each other a little in college and worked together at a bridal shop in Atlanta for a few years. I always thought it would be fun to do a wedding together and it was! Sara's husband is an old friend from college too, so set-up was a mini college reunion! Her floral work is absolutely stunning and we couldn't stop raving about her bouquets all day!

Valerie of the Prissy Plate Company handled all of the dishes and flatware. She recently got in gold velvet napkins and they were the perfect complement to blues and deep purples. Seriously, I'm still dreaming about this tablescape!

I've already mentioned the food and the pies, but my goodness, talk about delicious! Lucky Shot Bartending and Club Rhet kept the party going all night!

Elissa and Brent chose Chaise Tinsley of The Tinsley Co. to be their photographer and I am so glad they did! Aren't all the pictures in this blog absolutely stunning?? One thing I get asked about weddings is "have you ever had a day go crazy?" and honestly, no. Why? Because my brides have chosen quality professionals to work with. Chaise and I discussed the timeline and all the vendors knew when their part needed to be done by and anytime I did a time check, we were right on schedule. Thank you Chaise!!

Meadows at Mossy Creek

Okay, let's talk about The Meadows at Mossy Creek. This venue was designed with weddings in mind and they've got big plans for 2020. The two getting ready locations worked seamlessly for our couple. They have gorgeous farm tables for the reception and have really thought through everything the perfect wedding needs. The outdoor space overlooks the mountains to give you the perfect backdrop for your ceremony. Everything Karson and his wife have built is perfect and I hope to work here again soon!
