Late Summer Wedding at the Lodge at Evergreen | Iva, SC | Dan & Kacy

Kacy and Dan were married at First Baptist Iva in August 2020 and their reception was held at the Lodge at Evergreen Plantation. Although they had to postpone to a late summer wedding, it was such a joyous celebration with all of their loved ones. Kacy is an occupational therapist with a local school district and Dan is a law enforcement officer in another county. They met online and are so glad they did because their paths would never have crossed otherwise!

Their wedding was so full of joy as friends and family gathered to celebrate the happy couple. Kacy and Dan did not do a first look but their parents surrounded them in prayer as they held hands before the ceremony. It was such a sweet moment for them to share before the party began! Kacy could not wait to see her groom at the end of the aisle and Dan was so excited for the big moment. We also did a staged wedding exit after the ceremony with just the bridal party and their families. This allowed Kacy + Dan to have the traditional church exit photo although their true exit was at Evergreen. Because of all that happened in 2020, the church was able to live stream their wedding to a private Facebook group Kacy and Dan created for guests that were unable to attend. Throughout the reception, we also streamed their grand entrance, first dance, parent dances and the toasts. It was so fun to watch the comments roll in from loved ones as the night went on! While I love Zoom weddings, creating a private Facebook group is the way to go (we’ll have to do a whole blog post on this soon). Let's just talk about the donuts from Mama's Sweet Shoppe for a moment - can you say delicious? They were so good and we even got to take some home (we love cake / donuts for breakfast the day after a wedding!) The weather could not have been more perfect for this late summer wedding. If you're familiar with the South, it can get pretty hot in August, but it was perfect. Trinity Photos took the most beautiful sunset photos that we are obsessed with! Kacy is a Clemson grad so they lined up to take the infamous flag photo while the Tiger Rag played (okay UGA fam, why don’t we have a cool tradition like this?!) and Dan is definitely getting more and more accustomed to living in Tiger territory! It was such an honor to meet and work with Kacy and Dan, and their families, thank you for trusting us with your wedding day!
