Wedding Hair and Make-up Artists in the Greenville, SC and Anderson, SC Area

Your wedding day is undoubtedly one of the most important and memorable days of your life. From the dress to the venue, every detail is carefully planned to create the perfect experience. One crucial aspect that can't be overlooked is your hair and makeup. Not to be dramatic but, your bridal look will be front and center in all of your photos and videos for years to come; so it is highly important to choose the right artists for your style and look. As we always say - you want to look like you, but bridal! Even if you don’t wear a ton of make-up in your everyday life, you’ll need a tad more for it to show up “natural” in photos.

Here are some tips to ensure you choose the perfect artist for your special day:

  1. Do Your Research: Start by researching local hair and makeup artists in your area (we’re sharing several of our favorites below!). Look at their social media to get a sense of their style. Pay attention to whether their styles aligns with the look you envision for your wedding day. Make sure to take into account the possible “edits” from the photographer - yours and theirs - as this this will impact the look your photos. Some may do both hair and make-up, while others specialize in just one. This is important information to know!

  2. Read Reviews: Check online reviews and testimonials from past clients. Reading about other brides' experiences can give you valuable insights into the artist's professionalism, reliability, and skill.

  3. Schedule a Trial Run: Once you've narrowed down your options, schedule a trial run with your top choices. This allows you to see firsthand how the artist works and whether their style matches your vision. Be sure to bring inspiration photos and it’s best to have chosen your dress so know you know what neckline and details you’ll need to consdier. Don’t be shy - make sure to communicate your preferences clearly during the trial. Most of the time, there will be a fee (especially if you haven’t confirmed booking with them). If you’re 100% sold on them before your trial, you can use this trial run for your bridal portraits.

  4. Consider Your Wedding Style: Take your bridal style and venue into account when choosing your hair and makeup artist. If you're having a beach wedding, you may want a more natural, bohemian look. For a glamorous ballroom affair, you might opt for a more polished and sophisticated style. We’ll mention your dress again here too. This may help determine your hair and make-up look!

  5. Discuss Logistics: Inquire about the artist's availability on your wedding day and their pricing structure. Make sure you understand what's included in their services and whether they offer on-site styling or require you to travel to their studio. You’ll also want to ask if they can accomodate your bridal party and what that process is as well. Ask them how long they will need for everyone’s services and talk with your planner and photographer to confirm the timeline will work.

  6. Ask About Products and Techniques: Find out what products and techniques the artist uses. It's essential to use high-quality products that will last throughout the day and photograph beautifully. If you have any allergies or specific preferences, be sure to communicate them with the artist. Most artists will supply all the products needed on the wedding day, but if there is a particular product you love, ask them about using it during your trial.

  7. Trust Your Instincts: Ultimately, trust your instincts when choosing a hair and makeup artist. You should feel comfortable and like a bridal version of yourself on your wedding day.

Remember, your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and you deserve to look and feel absolutely stunning. By carefully selecting the right hair and makeup artist, you can ensure that your bridal beauty vision becomes a reality, leaving you radiant and glowing as you say "I do."
