Introducing Chad and Lacy Till | Porterdale, Georgia Wedding
Chad and Lacy met at their church in Atlanta, Georgia and got engaged at the Biltmore in early 2017. To celebrate their one year anniversary (12/16/17) I'm sharing their wedding day with you! You can read more about their love story in their "Meet the Couple" blog.
The Location
Lacy knew exactly how she wanted her wedding day to be and she had everything organized in a way that was easy for me to step in as her month of coordinator (thank you, Lacy!). They got married at The Mill at Yellow River in Porterdale, Georgia which has a very industrial chic aesthetics. I love that Lacy chose more of a winter wonderland style for her wedding than a traditional Christmas style. The soft blues and flocked trees beautifully complimented the brick interior!
The Dress and Tux
Lacy's chose the Penelope dress from the Willowby by Watters collection at While Magnolia in Buckhead. It has an illusion lace bodice that she wore a topper over for the ceremony. Lacy changed into a jumpsuit before they left in a sparkler exit. Chad's tux was custom made for him by Thomas Wages.
The Ceremony
One of the reason's Lacy wanted to get married at The Mill at Yellow River was because she saw a photo of a wedding there that had an aisle runner. Lacy really wanted an aisle runner so we made sure that happened! One of my favorite parts was watching Chad and Lacy worship during the ceremony. They have always been a couple who worshipped together (they met at church, remember? *wink*) and I loved that they wanted to keep Jesus at the center of their ceremony. This also made the perfect time to sneak the rings to the best man because we left them in the bridal suite! Thankfully The Mill had onsite staff that could run back and grab them for us and the amazing photographers made the best ring bearers! Haha.
The Reception
After the ceremony, the guests moved outside for a cocktail hour. Lacy and Chad chose not to do a first look and the cocktail hour gave us time to get all of the family and bridal party photos. The reception was held in the same room, and the staff at The Mill flipped it in record time! I have three favorite parts from this reception. The first is always the first dance. I know some brides and grooms feel a bit awkward with everyone watching, but your wedding day passes by very quickly. Sometimes this is the only uninterrupted time they get and I love seeing them as husband and wife for the first time during their dance.
My next favorite was the Maid of Honor and Best Man speeches. Even though I've known Lacy and Chad for years, hearing the love and laughter from their closest people was a true highlight. P.S. I'm know to get teary during these speeches (from laughter and emotions).
My third favorite part was when Lacy and Chad graciously shared the dance floor with another couple. Two of their closest friends had to move up their wedding because of a military deployment and never had a first dance. After Lacy and Chad cut the cake, their DJ invited them back up to the dance floor and asked for Emily and James to join them. The DJ then played the song that would have been Emily and James' first dance and the two couples shared a very special memory. Emily and James are two of my friends as well and when Lacy told me about this I couldn't wait to see Emily's face!
Lacy and Chad - thank you for being my first wedding and for trusting me with your special day. I will always cherish December 16, 2017 as a day to celebrate! Happy one year anniversary Mr. & Mrs. Till! #beTillmyheart.
